Amaan Ali is a documentary photographer and filmmaker based in London. His projects reflect on environmental crises, socio-political issues and the minutiae of life across borders.

His work has been featured in international publications, including the Guardian, BBC, CNN, Earth Photo, and CIWEM. He has held exhibitions of his work at the Royal Geographical Society (London), Officine Fotografiche (Italy), The Reference (Seoul), MMX Gallery (London), and Stanley Picker Gallery (London), Fujifilm House of Photography (London).

Ali’s work has been recognised and appreciated across the globe. Most recently, he was awarded the Young Environmental Photographer of the Year (EPOTY 2021) award by Nikon Europe. In the past, he was acknowledged with the Life Framer award, and Earth Photo award (finalist) among others.

He is a recent graduate of the Kingston School of Art's MA in Photography degree. His final project explored the complexities of Iranian activist Azamat Azhdari's life and struggle through the documentary film 'Ruins of a Body'.
